Dredging

Glenn Industrial Group performed hydraulic and mechanical dredging of the upper reservoir and intakes at a hydroelectric dam in North Carolina. The project included the placement of 2,500 LF of a 12鈥?HDPE pipe that would transfer the dredge material to a newly constructed sediment basin that was located south of the dam. The HDPE pipe sections were fused and welded to form a smooth pipeline. The hydraulic dredge pump Glenn Industrial deployed consisted of 39 jetting heads worked simultaneously to loosen material while (2) – 6鈥?dredge pumps were used to transfer the material from the reservoir to the sediment basin. GLENN Industrial conducted routine bathometric surveys during the project (1 initial, 3 periodic, 1 final) to ensure the required material was being moved.
